Every other week, all students in grades K-6 view a parent career segment on KRN. Parents discuss the skills required for their job/career and reflect on whether or not this job is something they may consider for themselves in the future.
Students in grades K-1 draw a picture of what they believe that job will look like and indicate if they are interested or not interested in this career based on what they heard and saw.
Students in grades 2-6 do a written reflection on whether or not they may consider the job/career for themselves based on the viewing. Students are encouraged to use the skills said by the parent as their supporting details to support their stance if they are interested or not interested in that job/career.
Teachers from each class select one student to have their reflection posted on the bulletin boards in between A105 and A106. Take time to read our students' reflections after each parent presentation.
Let's encourage all of our children to wonder, ponder, and continue to feel excited about the possibilities in their future!
