Campus Closed Due to Water Main Break- Virtual Learning Today

Good morning Families of Kanoelani:

Due to a water main break right outside of Kanoelani, the school will have no water until at least noon today according to the Board of Water Supply. Unfortunately that poses a health and safety concern for all and we will not be able to operate as usual for today. This is to notify you that our school is closed for operations on our physical campus today, Thursday September 24.

This impacts only you for those who attend school in person. For those who usually come to school, your teacher will contact you this morning to explain any virtual services for the day if possible. We apologize for any inconvenience. For those who are online learning, which is the majority, school will proceed as usual virtually today.

Thanks for your patience and have a good day.

Message from VP Tominaga: September 8, 2020

Good evening Kanoelani families and this is Vice-Principal Tominaga. I am hoping everyone had a restful Labor Day weekend.

We are having a second wave of classroom supply pick up. Since we have extended the Learn from Home phase until October 2nd, we need all families to pick up classroom materials and supplies. We are having two pick-up dates, which will be Friday, Sept. 11th from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm and Saturday, September 12th from 8:00 am - Noon. Please drive up to the cafeteria and a staff member will pass you the items. To help make the pick-up process go smoothly, please make a sign with your child's name, grade, and teacher's name. Put on your car’s dashboard on pick-up day. Any questions or concerns about pick up, please contact your classroom teacher. Families, we thank you in advance for picking up supplies and we do need everyone to come to pick-up supplies.

The last message is about our milk we serve at lunch and breakfast. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any milk with breakfast and lunch as of tomorrow. There is a statewide shortage of the type of milk we serve. However, we will continue to serve our regular breakfast and lunch meals as planned, but without the milk. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you and the issue is being addressed by the Department of Education School Food Service department.

Thank you families for our cooperation and please continue to practice unity, patience, and serenity as we continue the Learning from Home phase for the first quarter.
