McGraw-Hill Reading Wonders program is used as a base resource for grades K-6. The Wonders program was designed specifically for the Common Core State Standards that was adopted by the Department of Education. This program provides support for building a strong reading foundation, accessing complex text, finding and using text evidence, engaging in collaborative conversations, and writing to sources. Students are able to access the resource digitally or in print form. Grade levels supplement instruction with Moby Max, Reading A-Z, Lexia, Accelerated Reader, and other reading resources to meet the needs of all learners. Guiding reading, shared reading, and close reading approaches are emphasized in all grade levels. Our school-wide writing curriculum utilizes Write Tools with an emphasis of Thinking Maps to help organize thought process.
Go Math program is the current primary math program for grades K-6. The program supports the Common Core State Standards. Go Math emphasizes Essential Questions and Big Ideas with depth of understanding as the goal. Grade levels supplement instructions with IXL Math, Extra Math, and other math resources to ensure success for all students.
The Legacy Grant from Locations Foundation, Kanoelani was able to transform a classroom into a science lab. Students and teachers have access to a variety of science materials and supplies to conduct various experiments and apply the Scientific Process
